Trinity success at GW Athletics

It was a successful day for Trinity College athletes at the State Schools Victoria Greater Western Championships in Ballarat, with fine performances from all competitors.

Five of our students were presented with a blue ribbon and will be going through to the state competition in their events.

Trinity results:

  • Jack came first in 800m with a time of 2:15 and 1st in 1500m with 4:40
  • Jess came first in javelin with a throw of 25.88m
  • Ethan came second in triple with a jump of 10.74m
  • Oscar came second in 100m with a time of 12.13 and 2nd in 200m at 25.72
  • Faith came second in 800m with a time of 3:25
  • Emmy came second in high jump with 1.45m
  • Jayden came second in 400m with a time of 1 minute exactly
  • Ryan came third in Javelin with a throw of 34.43 metres
  • Olivia came third in 400m with 1:10

It was also an extremely successful day for the relay teams with Isla, Jess, Emmy and Tahneila  in the U15 girls placing third.

The U14 boys’ relay team had placed fourth but, due to a disqualification, the Trinity boys ended up placing third. Their team included Rory, Ingemar, Matthew and Ryder.

The U16 boys’ relay team of Ashton, Blake, Lewis and Lachlan also came third.

The U17 boys had a really good run, with Jack, Toby, Oscar and Ryan placing first in the relay.

Students that placed first in their events will be heading to state finals. Congratulations to Jack, Toby, Oscar, Ryan and Jess.
