Music Evening Showcases Skill, Character and Knowledge
Trinity students displayed their amazing artistic and personal development in front of family and friends at the Semester 2 Instrumental Music Evening on Wednesday night.
The special event highlighted the Music students’ commitment to their learning and provided an opportunity to develop character by performing in front of a live audience.
The evening commenced with the Combined Concert Band performing some favourite tunes including the theme from Star Wars , followed by the Concert Band with a dynamic set that showed off their new skills.
Oscar performed Mozart Sonata in D 1st movement with David Stewart, Megan performed a cello solo and her sister Chloe followed with a French horn solo.
Indee played saxophone and was then accompanied by Kelly Kerr, followed by the String Ensemble, Flute Ensemble and Thomas Phipps on trumpet.
Chloe was back on stage with her violin this time, playing Allegretto Moderato by Seitz, and Caitlin performed the Toy Story classic, When She Loved Me , on clarinet.
Banjo sang a solo by Miles Smith and Michael performed a self-composed jazz number on the piano.
The Sax Ensemble was up next, performing the theme from The Simpsons and Satin Doll , which had toes tapping, and then Jasmine played a lovely solo classic on piano, Once Upon a December .
Isabella was fantastic on flute, performing Mamma Mia accompanied by Kelly Kerr, and Henry performed Solfeggietto on the piano.
Chloe and Megan returned to the state with a Schubert violin and cello duet, Marche Millitaire , followed by Diamond playing ragtime jazz on clarinet.
The Brass Quartet wound up the evening’s entertainment with Habanera .
Masters of Ceremonies for the evening, Biddy and Logan, thanked all of the music tutors and teachers and accompanists, with a large round of applause for the incredibly diverse talents of our Music Program Coordinator, Mrs Kelly Kerr.
