Founders' Day

Every year Trinity College holds a special celebration, usually in term three or four, when the community recognises and celebrates their Founders.

For the past few years, following a Mass in St Mary's Church, a walkathon around the Colac Botanic Gardens has been held. Students sought sponsorship to complete laps of the gardens and the funds raised went to a worthy social justice cause. In the lead up to the event, the cause chosen for the year, was highlighted to the students to create an awareness of those less fortunate than themselves.

Walkathon 2014

Students commence the walkathon in 2014.

In 2017, it was decided that Founders' Day would be held on the Friday prior to our 50th Year Celebrations. This year, a liturgy will be held at Trinity College for students, staff and invited guests. Included in this part of the celebrations will be the official opening of the Jubilee Centre and the Trinity College synthetic oval.

  • The Jubilee Centre is a wonderful new building that includes a 300-seat theatre, classrooms for music and drama, music tutorial rooms and toilet facilities.
  • The new oval is being looked forward to with much anticipation as it will mean that, even in wet weather or really dry conditions, students will have a wonderful area for sporting events, physical education classes and lunch and recess play.

Apart from the liturgy, students will also take part in other activities during the day, such as a concert in the new theatre, activities on the oval and participation in social justice events.
